§ 01 — What we build
Cataloging is not one problem. Our technology covers the steps that have to hold together for a catalog to be worth using.

Recognize when separate records describe the same thing, across inconsistent naming, spelling, formatting, and language, so a catalog holds one entry per item rather than many.
Place each record within a structure — your own schema or a standard one — and keep the reasoning behind each placement visible, so uncertain cases can be reviewed rather than assumed.
Make the finished catalog usable: fast lookup, structured queries that understand the hierarchy, and a stable API for the systems and people that depend on it.

Material is gathered from its existing sources and formats.
Records take a consistent shape, with provenance retained.
Duplicates and variants collapse into single entries.
Entries are placed in a structure that fits the collection.
The catalog is versioned and made available to query.
§ 03 — Approach
A catalog is only as good as its worst entry, which shapes how we build.
Every record stays traceable to the source it came from. Nothing is silently rewritten.
When the system is unsure, it says so and routes the record for review instead of guessing quietly.
Collections differ. The catalog adapts to how you already describe your material, not the reverse.
